Home Tuition Care is a tuition agency which provides matching services for tutors and students.

How does Home Tuition Care match students with tutors?

We have a database of students looking for tuition as well as profiles of thousands of tutors. New tuition assignments for all levels and subjects are updated daily on our website. We will contact both the tutors and students once we find a suitable match.

How do I register as a tutor?

You can register as a home tutor for free through the website. Click here for registration.

Do I need to pay for registering myself as a tutor?

No. Registration is free. We welcome your registration as tutor. You will only share 50% of first month tuition fee as commission. The tuition rate is based on current market rate

When I register, am I an employee of Home Tuition Care?

No. Home Tuition Care does not employ any tutors. It is each tutors responsibility to pay all taxes on income earned and to settle all other issues arising from the tutoring job. We will not be responsible for any damage or loss which may occur under any circumstance.

Where will the tuition be held?

The location will generally be at the student’s home. You can choose the area which you would like to teach so that we can match you to students at your preferred location. If you conduct group tuition at your home, we can also find students to join your class.

What am I supposed to teach?

You should teach subjects and levels which you are proficient in. You should be familiar with the current school syllabus so that you will be able to guide the student well. In your registration form, you can choose as many subjects and levels as you like. We will contact you if there are any available assignments.

How many students do I need to teach?

Mainly for one-to-one tuition, you need to teach just one student. However in the case of siblings or group tuition, you may need to teach two or more.

Does Home Tuition Care provide me with any tuition materials?

No. You are responsible to come up with your own set of notes, purchase assessment books and prepare all other teaching materials required for tuition. However, you can claim back the money spent for assessment books and exercise books if the parents agree. You are required to inform the parents beforehand if you intend to buy such materials for the student as any loss incurred will not be compensated.

How much do I need to pay Home Tuition Care once I have accepted the offer?

Since we are a tuition agency, we only charge 50% of your tuition fees for the first month. You will not be charged for subsequent months. (E.g. If monthly tuition fees is SGD300, the commission fees will be SGD150 )

How do I make the payment?

You do not need to make any payment as we will directly collect the 50% commission from the student’s parents. You will receive the remaining 50% of your tuition fees from the parents after the first month of tuition. Subsequent month’s fee will not be affected.

When will I get my tuition fees?

The student’s parents will normally pay you in cash at the end of each month or when a fix number of lessons have been taught.

When and how will I receive my first tuition offer?

We will contact you if there are any available assignments which suit your requirements. Tuition assignments are offered according to the tutor’s qualification, experience and tuition rate. Tutors can also go to the website and apply for tuition assignments directly. It is not guaranteed that tutors will get the assignments they apply for, as parents will shortlist tutors according to their preferences. If you are selected, we will call you to confirm your acceptance of the offer. Please note that we have a large pool of registered tutors in our database so you may not get a tuition offer immediately. Nevertheless, we encourage our tutors to be patient and continue applying for tuition assignments on our website as new assignments are updated daily.

What should I do if I do not receive any offer for a long time?

Here are some things you can do to increase your chances of getting tuition offers:

  • Update your profile.
  • Provide us with more detail for 'self description'
  • Reduce your expected tuition rate
  • Upload a picture
  • Manually apply for tuition assignments on our website

Can I change my mind after I have accepted the offer?

Please accept the tuition offer only if you are committed to teach long-term. If you accept the offer but change your mind after confirmation, legal actions may be taken. This is due to the administrative costs and inconvenience caused to both parents and our consultants.
