"Guiding my students to see the light"

Being a patient and friendly person, I am able to get along well with students and is also sensitive to their needs. Whenever students are confronted with questions, I will ensure that they understand the concepts first before guiding them in generating out the solutions. I believe that such teaching method is more effective than showcasing the solutions to students only. After all, understanding the concepts is an important foundation. Though I may not have any formal teaching experience, I have been tutoring my sister when she was at the age of 12. Currently, she is secondary one and I have been helping her with maths and science. And Im happy to say that she has a better understanding of the topics now and scores well in them too. Additionally, my involvement in weekly buddy reading and teaching sessions with primary school students during my JC life enables me to learn how to communicate with students effectively and gain teaching experience at the same time too.
