"Breaking barriers in education"
My philosophy in teaching is a simple one. We teach the student how to think so they can think for themselves. A lot of my teaching style and method is derived from my previous teachers who employ a more unorthodox method of teaching. For example, when it comes to Literature, the emphasis will be on the appreciation of the book rather than simply analysis. With appreciation comes reflection and with reflection comes inspiration for writing. Though I am a more art orientated student I am able to teach Math quite well. I prefer to steer clear from the supposed method of study. To do questions over and over. Rather I'd prefer my students to think and to come to the formula themselves to show a firm grasp of the key concepts and understanding of the topic at hand. For the English subject, the focus will be on clean concise writing. As I believe that is one of the essential parts of obtaining good grades. For the long term, knowing how to write clearly will lead to having good work related skills such as doing up proposals or writing corporate letters. We will also focus on answering techniques to maximise the amount of marks obtained. Thank you for reading and I hope to have the opportunity to work with your child soon!
My previous Physics student, Shermi Chew from Sengkang, scored an A1 for her subject after one year of tutoring. I haven't been tutoring since as I have been forwarding my education.
I am one of the better Literature students in my cohort, with quite a few model essays in circulation for my year. My Mathematics and Literature grades have been consistently good for major exams. I have represented my school in quite a few academic related competitions such as quizzes, seminars and debates.
