"Just enough for the A"
My personal philosophy for teaching students is the sky is the limit. My method of teaching them is to teach just enough.
In consideration of the student, I cannot provide more homework than is possible to complete. Also, the student cannot be demanded to do all my homework at the expense of his/her other subjects. However, it does not mean I will not expect an A for the subject I teach in, nor does it mean I will not have such expectations.
I will push and coax the student towards an A. And at times when the students schedule or physical limits do not allow for the student to practice and perfect their understandings, I drill with a core of questions and assessments to ensure that they are not caught off guard.
My first student had B3 for both Chemistry and Physics. She came from Woodlands Ring Secondary School, and was taking 9 A Level subjects then.
At JC, I took up 2 Special Papers in Chemistry and Physics.
I had Merit for just the Physics paper
