"It is not how many questions you complete, but how much you learn in one question. "
I have taught home tuitions for the past 9 years ever since I graduated from Junior College. I teach both JC and secondary school students Math, Chemistry and Physics. I simplify difficult concepts to aid my students in their learning. A typical lesson will include a review of my student's learning in school where I clarify their doubts and help reinforce in their learning with practices, followed by an emphasis on the topics they are weak in. I believe it is important to build strong foundations in all topics as it helps the students to understand and apply concepts in the topics later on.
I have seen diligent students who still perform poorly because they take the wrong approach in their learning. I always believe that it is not how many questions they complete, but how much they learn in one question.
I have a strong passion for teaching. I teach not just to impart academic knowledge, but to prepare my student for independent learning which is an important skill in university and in the workforce.
For JC students, I teach H1 & H2 Chemistry and H1 &H2 Physics.
For Sec 1-5 students preparing for O & N levels, I teach A math, E math, Pure & Combined Chemistry, Pure & Combined Physics.
I have also prepared students for Chemistry International Baccalaureate (IB) exams.
Many of my students have improved at least 2 grades (D to B etc.) in their exams, with the biggest improvements: two of my students who scored U grades in their respective subjects before meeting me to scoring As in their A level exams; a secondary school student scoring D7 in Chemistry before meeting me, to scoring A1 in his O level exams.
I graduated with second class honours in Electrical Engineering. I was the class and subject representative in JC & secondary school. I held leadership positions in my CCAs in both JC & secondary school.
