"Boosting your kid's self esteem while improving their grades."

My 5-weeks of MOE Teaching Internship in Boon Lay Garden Primary School made me realize my strength and love for teaching. I adapt different teaching strategies based on the profile of the students, besides making learning fun. Although employing new strategies may be more time consuming while requiring extra effort from the teacher's perspective, I strongly believe at the end of the day, teaching is not just about standing in front and talking out facts. It is more of ensuring what you thought, makes sense to them and they are able to apply it in their daily lives. Most importantly, I wish to inculcate positivity among students and let them know it is okay and not to worry to make mistakes as all of us are there to help each other to learn by boosting their self confidence with constant encouraging feedback and rewards provided. Do not feel discouraged if your kid is not doing well now. I strongly believe that no matter how challenging things maybe, as long as you are determined and persistent to make a difference in their lives, magic will happen at the end of the day!
