"Clarity solves anxiety"
I am an ex-MOE teacher with 10 years of teaching experience.
HIRE me if you are looking for a tutor who:
- makes complicated concepts simple to understand for your child to learn
- reduces your child's worries over exams and tests
- can boost your child's self-confidence and interest in his studies
During one of my sessions with a Grade 5 (primary 5 equivalent) IB student, I guided her to learn double-digit multiplication that was easier to apply and check, and more accurate in the span of 1 hour as compared to the usual calculation algorithm. Before that, she had difficulty multiplying a 3-digit number by a 2-digit number.
With the same student, she did not know how to change money from dollars and cents to cents and vice versa. $200 was 2 million cents to her. Within the lesson of 1 hour, I guided her to recall that $1 = 100 cents. Then, using this definition, I guided her to understand that $200 = 20000 cents. One week later, I tested her again on changing money from dollars and cents to cents and vice versa. She remembered them and answered most of the questions correctly.
