"Reassure your kids. They are not stupid. "
Hi, my name is Joanne. I'm currently pursuing a degree in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), majoring in Offshore Engineering. My best subject is math and science. I'm interested in tutoring because I am driven and passionate about teaching. I'm also patient around kids and understand their learning needs.
Two years ago, I volunteered to teach my cousins and their classmates at primary school level. For their first lesson, I reviewed their understanding in certain topics before teaching the concepts in-depth. During subsequent lessons, I gave a short recap on what they've learnt in the previous lesson.
In my opinion, teachers nowadays have difficulty instilling confidence in their students. Hence, I strive to make sure I give them the recognition they deserve, especially if they've made the effort to revise their work.
